Investigators checked the conditions for the animals at the large feedlot. The feedlot appeared to be at its maximum capacity, there were sheep in all the pen areas. The pen rotation seemed completed for most animals in the feedlot. The feedlot ships sheep to a slaughter plant in nearby Denver, CO.
Most of the animals visible from the public road appeared to be in fairly good condition. No injuries were observed. The feedlot offers no shelter for most of the animals and therefore no protection from the elements.
