Investigators arrived at the auction at 1130. There were few in attendance at the poultry/small animal auction this day, apparently due to the cold temperatures and snow. The birds and rabbits were sheltered from the snow but had no shelter from the wind and cold. Additionally, there was no food or water provided in the crowded cages. The animals were required to stand on the bare wire bottoms of the cages. The bird handling was rough with the workers grabbing the birds by the feet and wings. Animals’ Angels will continue to monitor this auction.
