At Wilson’s Triple W Auction, peacocks are crammed into stacked cages. One bird’s tail feathers were dishevelled — likely from being trampled by visitors.
Animals’ Angels has been monitoring Triple W Arena - Wilson Horse and Mule animal auctions for years — and our latest visit confirms what we’ve long feared: the suffering continues unchecked.
Despite multiple USDA inspection reports obtained by groups like the ASPCA and PETA, no meaningful action has been taken to hold this auction accountable. One inspection documented a zebra with a broken back, left crying on the floor for hours without veterinary care. Auction staff openly discussed shooting him after the sale instead of seeking emergency treatment. Other citations detailed a zebra with untreated leg wounds, workers striking bison in the head with a five-foot stick, and a distressed young camel forced into direct contact with the public without protective barriers. Enclosures were littered with sharp metal, drenched with standing water, and offered no dry place for animals to rest.

In 2022 alone, USDA inspectors issued 29 separate citations against Triple W. The violations paint a nightmarish picture of cruelty, neglect, and preventable suffering. And still — nothing has been done. No fines. No real consequences.
Animals’ Angels’ 2025 investigation revealed equally disturbing conditions:
- Animals left in pens filled with deep mud and standing water, feet submerged with no dry ground.
- Overcrowded enclosures where animals had no space to lie down.
- Peacock cages stacked dangerously, with tails trampled by visitors.
- A young water buffalo tethered to a wall, neck hyperextended, unable to rise without help.
- Bird housing so unstable it put the animals at constant risk of injury.
Even after all this, the only response has been another USDA “Official Warning” issued on June 5, 2025.
We cannot wait another year for action. Animals’ Angels will continue to document conditions at this sale and push for stronger enforcement — but we need your voice too.
