We're sure you've heard the animal advocacy motto "Adopt-Don't Shop!" There is good reason to get behind this rallying cry. Too many animals suffer at the hands of those interested only in exploiting them for a profit. Sadly, the cruelty doesn't end there. In addition to a lifetime of suffering for those trapped in the horrific confines of a puppy mill, this exploitive industry of irresponsible overbreeding is a contributing factor to the overfilled shelters and rescues nationwide.
In our recent report, we documented the operations of seven dog breeders who routinely kept dogs and puppies in inhumane conditions, and continued to do so even after they were charged with animal cruelty, found guilty or plead guilty, and paid their fines.
