Veedersburg Horse Auction, IN 8/21/10

Date:
Saturday, August 21, 2010 - 10:30
Investigation Category:

Approximately 35-40 horses were sold at the auction on the day of our visit. Most of the horses were riding horses. There was one emaciated horse, however, the other horses appeared to be in good shape. At least two horses were AQHA registered horses. The auction premises consisted of a small, older barn and a small auction ring. There was no loading ramp, and the sellers walked their horses into the barn. Pens were not overcrowded and most horses were individually tied in the pens. At the entrance to the barn a sign was posted stating “NO LAME HORSES ACCEPTED.”
