The situation was found unchanged at the premises of R & R Livestock in Murray, KY. Investigators saw approx. 45 horses and a few ponies and goats roaming in the pasture. Several of them had auction tags still attached, most likely from the Smith Grove auction sale, where R & R had been observed buying and selling horses two days earlier. Most of the horses were thin and some of them were emaciated with hip bones and spine clearly visible. It was noted that hay and water was provided to all horses. R & R supplies horses for large scale slaughter buyers in Michigan and Arkansas.
