Investigation Category:

Upon arrival, investigators noticed there were several stock trailers with horses on them which were never run through the auction. Inside the barn, none of horse pens had any hay or water. The zebra, that was observed the month before, was still there and investigators were informed that it was for sale for 6500.00 USD. All horses observed were in acceptable condition with the exemption of a few with overgrown hooves.  17 horses were sold through the sale ring, one of them, a bay mare with a star & stripe white rear sock, the auctioneer announced as a “Brian Moore” horse. She was sold for 75.00 USD to a local suspected kill buyer. The auctioneer tried to get someone else to bid on her and even said, “I don’t want to see this one go to the killers.”
