When the investigators arrived at the slaughter horse collecting station in Scottsville, they saw a pick up truck with a stock trailer and a semi pulling a double deck trailer leaving the premises. The stock trailer was loaded with approx 18 horses. At an intersection, the double decker proceeded in a different direction than the stock trailer. The investigators decided to follow the double decker, which had Indiana plates. After following the transport for 35 miles on a small windy road in the pouring rain, the investigators finally were able to determine that the trailer was empty. Relieved, they returned to the collecting station. The pen area was empty, only 3 horses were left. The investigators decided to leave the premises to return on another date.
