Investigators arrived at the auction at 4:30pm. The auction was held in the arena barn, people were riding horses and driving carts and wagons in order to gain interest from prospect buyers. All horses in the barn had access to hay and water. Behind the arena barn, small equipment, tack and other items were sold. When the riding horse sale started, investigators noticed that the auctioneer gave complete descriptions of the animals being sold and took a long time to sell the individual animal. There were no loose horses sold. Many out of state trailers from MO, AK, WY and UT were parked outside, but no known kill buyers were observed.
