Investigators discovered that the auction does require that a health certificate be completed by the seller with the aid of the Brand Inspector. There was no shelter for the horses and the temperature was 92 degrees Fahrenheit. Jason Fabrizius unloaded five fillies less than a year old.
Two of the fillies had chest injuries and one had an infection at the shoulder. During the auction, investigators observed one horse lame with swollen front knees, one horse with large cuts on shoulder, and another horse with cuts in upper right front shoulder.
