What does Animals Angels Do?

Animals’ Angels Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) non profit organization incorporated in Maryland with full-time investigators working in the United States. Our focus is on improving conditions for farm animals. We work primarily in the field, trailing livestock trucks on highways, visiting markets, collecting stations and slaughterhouses. We closely cooperate with auction managers, transport companies and numerous authorities (police, veterinarians, the United States Department of Agriculture).

Blow to Swiss Horse Meat Market Expected

 

In a global campaign, Animals’ Angels Inc. (AA USA) and our European Ally Tierschutzbund Zürich (TSB) have gathered extensive information about the horse slaughter industry.  

Evidence obtained through investigations conducted throughout 2012 proves that horse meat imported from Canada, Argentina and Mexico and sold in Switzerland was produced in violation of EU as well as Swiss animal welfare standards. Additionally, we were able to prove that labels on packaged meat throughout Switzerland contain false information and that contrary to the claims of importers and distributors, the horses are not transported, cared for and slaughtered according to EU and Swiss standards.

Recent investigations confirm that the plight of "Dairy" cows at auctions is extremely poor.

Most people have seen, and few can forget images of "Dairy" Cows unable to walk being moved with a forklift. "Dairy" Cows are the most likely to become "downers" at auction. "Dairy" Cows are a major concern - in our experience, they are the ones that suffer the most. The summer months are especially hard on these that are already weak and lame.
